Volunteers make the event happen! You are an essential part of the event and an ambassador for Canada Running Series. All volunteers receive an ASICS Ready-Set Short Sleeve Top, snacks, a community service hours letter, and a great and memorable volunteer experience!

Waiver

In consideration of Canada Running Series Inc. accepting my entry as Volunteer in this running event (hereinafter “the Event”), I, the below undersigned, intending to be legally bound, for myself, my heirs, my executors and administrators, agree as follows: 

AS A CONDITION of my participation as Volunteer in the Event, I ASSUME ALL RISK of personal injury, death, or property loss resulting from any cause whatsoever, including, but not limited to, the negligence, gross negligence, breach of contract or breach of statutory duty of care on the part of Canada Running Series Inc., Canada Running Series Foundation, Tata Consultancy Services Canada Inc., Fast North Corp. (Race Roster), Race Roster North America Corp., ASICS Corporation, The Toronto Police Service, The Toronto Police Service Board, The Chief of Police, The Toronto Transit Commission, The City of Toronto, The Board of Governors of Exhibition Place, Enercare Inc., Beanfield Technologies Inc., Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd., BPC Coliseum Inc., and their respective directors, officers and employees, Athletics Ontario, Athletics Canada, Sports Technology and Timing Systems Limited (Sportstats), Garmin International Inc., Bristol Truck Rentals, Sunbelt Rentals/White’s LES, Higgin’s/Element Event Rentals, Made with Local Snack Foods Inc., Chantler’s Environmental Services, Odyssey Medical Inc., A. Lassonde Inc., Yoplait Liberte Canada, Haleon Canada ULC (Voltaren),The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company, Mega Stage Inc., SHOKZ (Singapore) PTE. LTD., Flair Airlines Ltd., Kenvue Canada Inc. (Neutrogena), Subaru Canada, Inc., Organika Inc., Running Room Canada Inc., Nuun & Company, Inc., Goodlife Fitness Centres Inc., Bausch + Lomb Canada, Athletic Brewing Company LLC, Athlete’s Care Sports Medicine, Dwight Crane Ltd., Astrodog Media., BGI Riders, Yamaha Motor Canada Inc., GU Energy Labs, Chiquita Fresh North America L.L.C., Arashido Taiko, it’s employees, participants, volunteers, organizers, contractors, associates, representatives, sponsors, successors and assigns (collectively the “Canada Running Series Group”).

I AGREE that the Canada Running Series Group shall NOT BE LIABLE for any such personal injury, death or property loss as a result of my participation as Volunteer in the Event and I release Canada Running Series Group and WAIVE ALL MY RIGHTS and CLAIMS with respect thereto.

I AGREE NOT TO SUE the Canada Running Series Group for any loss, injury, costs or damages of any form or types, howsoever caused or arising, and whether directly or indirectly from my participation in the Event as Volunteer.

I AGREE TO INDEMNIFY and to SAVE and HOLD HARMLESS the Canada Running Series Group and each of them, from any litigation expense, legal fees, liability, damage, award or cost, of any form or type whatsoever, they may incur due to any claim made against them, or any of them, as a result of my participation as Volunteer in the Event whether the claim is based on the negligence or gross negligence of the Canada Running Series Group or otherwise.

I acknowledge the following for my in-person volunteer participation:
• I acknowledge the highly contagious nature of COVID-19 and I voluntarily assume the risk that I could be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by participating in this running event.

Being exposed to or infected by COVID-19 may particularly lead to injuries, diseases or other illnesses.
• I agree to comply with all health and safety guidelines and requirements for this running event which may be implemented by Canada Running Series Inc.
• I acknowledge and accept that this running event may be cancelled and/or rescheduled as a result of the ongoing impact of COVID-19.
• I confirm that Canada Running Series may disclose and/or provide my volunteer information to public health authorities for the purposes of contact tracing.
I attest that I am physically fit for the completion of tasks at the Event. Furthermore, I hereby grant full permission to use my name and likeness, as well as any photographs and any record of the Event in which I may appear for legitimate purpose, including advertising and promotion.
I understand that if I select to donate to or fundraise for one of the charities in the TCS Charity Challenge, they may contact me with more information on fundraising at Canada Running Series events.

I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT AND I AM AWARE THAT BY AGREEING TO THIS WAIVER AGREEMENT I AM GIVING UP CERTAIN SUBSTANTIAL LEGAL RIGHTS INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE.

FOR VOLUNTEERS OF MINOR AGE (UNDER AGE 18 AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION)
ACKNOWLEDGMENT BY PARENT/GUARDIAN
I am the parent/guardian of the minor child/ward (hereinafter “Minor Child”) identified above having full legal responsibility for decisions regarding my Minor Child; and
I’m familiar with and accept, on behalf of myself and my Minor Child that there is the risk of with volunteering at a large-scale event, and 
I have satisfied myself and believe that my Minor Child is physically, emotionally and mentally able to participate as Volunteer in the Event; and
I understand, and will instruct my Minor Child, that all applicable rules for participation as Volunteer in the Event must be followed and that at all times the sole responsibility for personal safety of my Minor Child remains with myself and my Minor Child.

I hereby grant Canada Running Series (“CRS”) permission to use my likeness in a photograph, video, or other digital media (“photo”) in any and all of its publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other consideration.

This grant includes, without limitation, the right to publish such images on the CRS website, publications and PR/promotional materials, such as marketing materials, admissions publications, advertisements, fund-raising materials, and any other CRS-related publication.

I understand and agree that CRS may retain the services of a third party to produce the photos. I also understand and agree that all photos will become the property of CRS and will not be returned, although I will be provided with an opportunity to purchase pictures of myself taken at a CRS event.

I hereby irrevocably authorize CRS to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute these photos for any lawful purpose. In addition, I waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein my likeness appears. Additionally, I waived any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related the use of the photo.

I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE ABOVE PHOTO RELEASE. I AFFIRM THAT I AM AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE, OR, IF I AM UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, I HAVE OBTAINED THE REQUIRED CONSENT OF MY PARENTS/GUARDIANS AS EVIDENCED BY THEIR SIGNATURES BELOW.

It is the policy of Canada Running Series, and by extension, its participants, to foster an environment that respects people's dignity, ideas and beliefs thereby ensuring a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment free from discrimination, harassment and hate. Violation of this policy will lead to the review of your continued participation and may result in immediate removal from the event. By agreeing to the zero tolerance policy, you acknowledge your commitment to upholding Canada Running Series’ inclusion policy.
